No paper delivery for 6 days in a row. Every day I'm promised the paper will be delivered the next day, and it never is.
Awful customer service. Cannot speak to a local agent regarding the matter and to see why they can't deliver. I subscribed to the paper to receive it, not chase after it every day. They will not reimburse me for the cost to purchase the paper they failed to deliver.
Their subscription rate has declined substantially; more than evident why. Skip the whole process, read a well-written paper online, not the Republic!

Due to their high cost for a weekly newspaper, we decided to only get it 3 days a week. The billing department quoted me $24.93 per month for this.
Since then the bill has ranged from $40.79 down to $6,00 per month to correct their over charges, Now I'm told it it $37,00 a month.
Told them to cancel the paper immediately. Been a subscriber for over 30 years, but no more.

Since the new editor has taken over, the paper is a waste of time, unless I want to read what I saw on the internet in the days before they published it. Today, 10/14/25, they still have the college football rankings from 10/5/25.
No box scores for baseball, either. Just give up on not doing your job, thanks!

After several years without issues, I canceled my subscription today, 9/10/2025. Customer service rep was difficult to understand, a complete waste of time trying to sort this out.

The only way I was able to cancel future online payments was to go through my credit card company and request my current card be cancelled. This shouldn't be the approach a reputable business uses to ENTRAP customers.

The newspaper started on 12/1/24 and there have been 13 missed deliveries on my seven-day a week subscription. The response is always the same: 'We will notify the carrier,' but no one seems to care, least of all the carrier! This week, 1/6/25 to 1/11/25, is the worst with four missed papers.

Our carrier didn't deliver for 3 days, on top of a couple single days. I spoke with CS to cancel.
I'm paid up through the end of Dec, so I will get deliveries until then. Paper was delivered one day, but now 2 deliveries have been missed.
Same platitudes from CS - we're sorry and a manager will notify the carrier. DO NOT RECOMMEND

- - No Wed or Sun paper delivered; calls produced recordings saying no one was on duty.
I signed up to receive the Wed and Sun issues of the paper, which was supposed to start delivery on Wed, Dec 11. No paper was delivered so I called and talked to a lady on Thur or Fri and was advised that the Wed paper I missed could not be delivered at that time but that I would receive the Sun paper.
When Sun came there was no paper delivered so I called and got a recording (not a person) and was told that the carrier had been alerted to deliver another paper. None was delivered so I called again and was advised by the recording that no one was on duty to take my call.
Irritated with cancellation process

Not all bad but canceling my subscription is an absurdity. 3 or 4 minutes to "bring up your account", then more minutes on hold "while I cancel your account".
Computers are fast.
Bringing up an account takes (or should take) seconds, canceling should take seconds.
I expect someone on the other end to try to spend some time trying to talk me out of canceling. Pretty much all businesses make canceling a bit difficult but this level of foot dragging and time wasting rises to the level of actually being unethical.
It took 16 minutes on the phone to complete the cancellation.
Put your phone on speaker and have something else to do with the time it takes them to cancel your account.

I have been a subscriber for 40 years, but I am giving it up. The new format on Sunday is bad.
There is nothing about Saturday college football scores. The comics page is a joke. They have removed some of my favorites for some that I do not read.
In fact, I do not even look at comics any longer. I'm sorry that you have taken the path you have, but you have lost this subscriber.
